OMAHA, Neb- (TD Ameritrade Park)  The Tigers of LSU opened the scoring and never looked back on Saturday.

In a contest against one of the best teams in the nation, the combination of a Sophomore’s greatest outing to date and relentlessly putting the bat on the ball, LSU came away with a 6-1 win over Oregon State.

Caleb Gilbert threw 7 1/3 innings giving up only 2 hits while striking out 7. Gilbert faced 25 hitters throwing 97 pitches, 17 first pitch strikes. With a Strike % of 69, Gilbert commanded 67 strikes to 30 balls.

LSU advances in the College World Series to take on the winner of the Florida/TCU contest in what will be a best of 3 Championship Series starting on Monday.
